The event will see hundreds of participants run, walk, or wheel their way around the 21.1km half-marathon, 10km or 5km events.
More than 440 runners have signed up so far for the 21.1 or 10km events, which will start simultaneously at 8am.
The 5km event gets going at 9.15am.
CLRS chief executive Leah Taaffe said preparations were going well.
“The parks and gardens team from Campaspe Shire dropped off all the gorgeous spike picket fencing this morning after Winter Blues, and we’re getting our final entries in and happening this week,” she said.
“Everything’s under control at this point, which is really nice, and we’re really looking forward to getting the event under way.
“Hopefully, it’s a beautiful morning on Sunday — that’s the only thing we’re waiting for.”
All three courses will see participants pass through the Port of Echuca and cross both bridges over the Murray.
While the 5km run will start from Bartlett St in Moama, the old Echuca-Moama bridge will serve as the start line for the 21.1 and 10km events, the roadway to be closed for the first time in the event’s history.
“It was something we thought we’d really like to do after last year’s event,” Taaffe said.
“We thought it would be something a little bit different and special and add an extra layer of uniqueness to the event.
“Now that we have two bridges, it’s a nice thing to be able to do because people can still get back and forth, and we’re not impacting in any significant way people’s ability to get around town.”
All three events will conclude at the corner of Blair and Bartlett Sts, adjacent to the Kerrabee Sound Shell.
About 50 places remain available between the 21.1 and 10km events as of Wednesday, and entries will be accepted up until the morning of the event.
The funds raised by Run Echuca-Moama will go towards CLRS’s Opening Doors project, which provides homes for people living with disability in the community.
The project has delivered five homes so far and housed 22 people.
“We’re trying to make sure we’ve got a five- to seven-year plan in place for our Opening Doors project and that’s what these funds will go to,” Taaffe said.
“(They will) help us get that plan in place and then get our next Opening Doors project under way, which will be our sixth project.
“We’re now aiming to have the planning and funding in place for that to start sometime in the next 18 months to two years.”
