Soaring Eagles crowned at club’s best-and-fairest

Playing off half-back and through the middle, Shenfield’s toughness and ability to get the job done earned eight nominations in the best players from his 16 games played.

Bailey Boyack was also recognised for his strong year, finishing as runner-up in the vote count, while Nash Ramage scooped the rising star award after locking down the first-choice ruck spot.

Jessica Davidson claimed the A-grade netball honour after a fine season, dominating through the midcourt to help guide her side to a finals berth.

Tessa Bruni also enjoyed a standout season, finishing as runner-up, while Kate Pearson won the players’ player award.

Notching her 300-game milestone for the Eagles this year, Zara Retallick capped a memorable season by taking out the B-grade best-and-fairest ahead of Georgia McGowan.

Libby Bell was deemed to have been the Eagles’ best-and-fairest throughout the season in C-grade, ahead of Steph Crouch, while Jordan Edwards claimed the accolade in C-reserve ahead of Naomi Williams.

Peter Quanchi was a deserving winner of the best-and-fairest in the reserves football, having also taken out the league goal-kicking award with 57 majors for the season.

Bodhi Chique clinched the runner-up spot, enjoying a consistent season of football no matter what part of the ground he played in.

In the junior ranks, Jackson Lewis wrapped up the under-17 top gong ahead of Hunter Beveridge, while Xan Spiers was crowned best-and-fairest in the under-14s ahead of Harper Delamare.

Aisha Railton earned top honours in the under-17 netball vote count, edging out teammate Hayley Depace, while Chloe Moyle claimed the win over Abbey Stobaus in the under-15s.

Evelynn McCartney was named best-and-fairest in the under-13 netball side, just ahead of joint runners-up Evie Clarke and Evee Hazelman.

Senior football captain James Harney received a special award recognising his spectacular 100-goal season, becoming the third Eagle to achieve the feat, after booting 102 majors which also won him the league goal-kicking award.

Melanie and Travis Price were acknowledged by the Eagles with the Club People awards, recognising their contribution to Echuca United throughout the season.
