With most football and netball leagues past the halfway point, there are a few interesting contests to kick off the business end of the season.
Chiefly, Echuca will face Shepparton United in round 10 of the Goulburn Valley League at Deakin Reserve, with the A-grade netball beginning at 1.30pm and the senior football game at 2pm on Saturday.
Echuca’s high-flying women's football side will host mid-table Mansfield at Victoria Park on Sunday, June 15 at 2pm.
Our trusty Murray League teams will all be in action in round 10, with Moama being the only home side this time around, hosting Deniliquin Rams.
Tongala will travel to Finley in the hopes of redeeming its season, while Echuca United will hit the long road to battle Mulwala.
All Murray League A-grade netball games are scheduled for 1.30pm, while the senior football will begin shortly after at 2pm on Saturday.
Leitchville-Gunbower and Lockington Bamawm United both have consequential matches in round nine of the Heathcote District League.
The Cats will dance with the Demons at Lockington Recreation Reserve, while the Bombers will have the Bulldogs in their sights at Leitchville Recreation Reserve.
Both football and netball games will begin at 2.30pm on Saturday.
Picola United will pay a visit to Dookie United, while Mathoura will host Strathmerton in round 11 of the Picola and District League.
The struggling Timbercutters will be desperate for a win, while the Blues will look to continue their climb up the standings.
Both football games are slated to begin at 2.05pm, while the netball will get under way a fraction earlier at 1.30pm on Saturday.
After a break over the long weekend, the Border Raiders men's and women's soccer teams are both going on road trips for round six.
The Central Victorian League 2 men will head to Rotary Park to face Deniliquin Wanderers on Saturday.
Deni is the only team they have beaten so far this season and the boys will be drawing on that experience to course correct their season.
Meanwhile, the Central Victorian League 1 women will go to McEwen Reserve to play third-placed Shepparton United on Sunday and will also look for their second win.
With the A-grade men are on a bye this weekend, the other senior Echuca-Moama Hockey Club teams will be in action in round six of the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association.
The B-grade men will host the Strikers at Echuca College, with centre pass slated for 1pm on Saturday.
Both Echuca women’s teams will be active in round six, with Echuca-Moama Green hosting Strikers at Echuca College at 2.30pm and Echuca-Moama White will travel to Shepparton Hockey Complex to battle Euroa at 3.30pm.
