The Steamers and Echuca were the big winners in Tuesday’s Campaspe Playing Area action and now make up the league’s top two after round four.

Echuca handed league newcomer Kyabram a second straight defeat in convincing fashion, taking all three rinks in a 16-83 to 0-47 result.
James Ferrier skipped a huge win for Echuca, his squad of Rhonda Gallagher (lead), Lee Beattie (second) and Roma Opie (third) running up a 37-12 win in their rink.

Ian Page and Kerryn Evans were also successful in their respective rinks.
The Steamers were also perfect in their contest with Rochester, winning 16-88 to 0-43.
The big win came in Matt Robertson’s rink, the Moama skip leading his quartet to a 35-11 result.

Cameron Keenan (29-16) and Jock Linehan (24-16) helped improve Moama’s percentage, earning the Steamers maximum points.
Deniliquin picked up its first victory of the season, prevailing over Rich River 14-68 to 2-57.
Tony Tonta was a big part of Deni’s win, skipping the biggest triumph of the tie 27-16.
Maria Greco couldn’t lead her Kyabram squad to victory.

The other rinks were more closely fought as Deniliquin’s Paul Clear scored a 19-16 win over Gary Radford, and Rich River’s Brian Trengove pulled one back for his side 25-22.
In the remaining match of the round, Stanhope edged out Mathoura 14-57 to 2-52.
Jennifer Crilly (21-13) and Gregory Fitzpatrick (20-17) skipped successful rinks for Stanhope, while Troy Mansbridge ensured Mathoura didn’t walk away empty-handed, scoring victory 22-16.

Moama is the runaway leader on the league table at 4-0, while five teams trail the Steamers at 2-2.
Echuca, Mathoura, Stanhope, Rich River and Kyabram are all within four points of each other, while Deniliquin and Rochester trail with a single win each.

Lower divisions
In division two, Moama crushed Rich River 16-92 to 0-36, while Deniliquin RSL was equally dominant over Rochester 16-93 to 0-36.
Kyabram and Echuca played out a very different contest, with Ky winning two rinks but splitting the points in a 9-65 to 7-65 draw.
Division three saw Tongala remain unbeaten, winning 14-48 to 0-31 over Rochester, as did Deniliquin, which survived a scare against Echuca, 12-42 to 2-41.
Kyabram secured maximum points over Lockington, 14-55 to 0-23, while Rich River defeated Elmore 12-50 to 2-39, and Moama got the win over Ky Valley View 12-38 to 2-32.
In division four, Stanhope was strong against Lockington, 14-50 to 0-31, and Echuca edged out Kyabram 12-40 to 2-38.
At the time of writing, the results between Moama Green and Rich River, and Moama Black and Tongala, weren’t yet available.
