In the Murray Netball League, it was three for three for Moama, Tongala and Echuca United.
The Eagles are unlikely to see finals, but did a huge favour for the Magpies and Blues by overcoming Numurkah 37-34.
The win allowed Tongala to take the fellow Blues spot in the top six, while Moama is threatening the top four after defeating the side above them on the table, Deniliquin.
Moama was also too strong for the Rams in senior football, scoring a big win.
Echuca United struggled to kick accurately in the wet, and it cost them victory over Numurkah.
After getting out to a big first-quarter lead, the Eagles stalled, logging 3.13 (31) and going down by a point.
Tongala couldn’t get going against Cobram and suffered a heavy defeat.
In the Picola and District League, there was no success for Picola United or Mathoura in either football or netball.
In the Heathcote District League, Lockington-Bamawm United were too strong for Leitchville-Gunbower in an upset result, keeping a flicker of finals hopes alive.
In the netball, the Cats also surprised the Bombers, suddenly stringing together consecutive successes after going winless for most of the season.
