Travelling to Marong Bowls Club, the Steamers put on a clinic in round eight, winning four straight and cruising to an 18-115 to 0-65 victory to remain undefeated and two games clear on top of the table.
In rink one, Moama skipper Brody Harker took down the Robert Day-led Marong unit 27-18 to open the account for the green and black.
Matthew Robertson and his contingent continued the Steamers’ good form, sailing past Marong’s Mark Dickins 26-14.
The handiest defeat for Moama came in rink three, as skipper Cameron Keenan led his side to a 36-9 shot thrashing against the Darren Marshall-led Marong side.
Rounding out the match, Steamers skipper Paul Girdler made the great escape against Marong’s Dean Carter, with the rink coming down to the wire in a 26-24 finish.
It was the largest margin of victory for the Steamers this season and the third time the club cracked 100 shots.
With six rounds remaining and having already played every other side, there is a strong chance that Moama could go undefeated en route to winning the title.
Before that, the Steamers will return to their home of Moama Bowling Club for an interesting battle against third-place Golden Square in round nine on Saturday.
