The minor premiership-winning junior Blues won their way into the decider in convincing fashion at the weekend, taking down Tungamah 8.4 (52) to 2.2 (14) in the preliminary final at Waaia Recreation Reserve.
The Blues jumped out to quick lead in the first quarter, slotting three unanswered goals for the term.
It set the platform for the strong result and Tungamah rarely looked as if it would make a comeback.
Beau Griffiths led the way for Picola with five goals, while Blair Watson, Reeve Sellarrs, and Alby Dolling also kicked majors.
Picola United, which has been the dominant force in the league all season, now takes on leading challenger Berrigan in the grand final from 9.30am at Deniliquin on Saturday.
The Blues’ other side searching for a grand final berth was the C-reserve outfit, but the squad went down in a tight one against Waaia on Sunday.
The Bombers narrowly had the quality at Katamatite Recreation Reserve, eliminating Picola 25-22.
In the top-grades, Deniliquin Rovers and Katandra will contest the A-grade grand final, while Waaia and Katamatite will battle for the senior flag.
