Two dead, two wounded in Northern Ireland shooting

Officers were at the scene, which has been cordoned off.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesperson confirmed two people were being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

"We can advise there is no ongoing risk to the public," they said.

There was no immediate word on a motive.

Deborah Erskine, who represents the area in the Northern Ireland Assembly, said the community was "stunned" by the shooting in "a rural, quiet area."

"Everyone is deeply affected by what has happened this morning," she said.
