Worth up to $15,000, the Local History Grants Program is designed to encourage and foster community activities that help educate about the history of the state.
The grant application period is closing on January 24, 2022, with Nationals Member for Ovens Tim McCurdy encouraging local organisations to get involved and apply.
“The Local History Grants Program encourages and fosters community activities that preserve, record and share the local, social and community history of Victoria and Victorians,” Mr McCurdy said.
“Applications are now open for grants of up to $15,000 to assist local community groups, sports clubs, schools and other organisations that collect and preserve the stories of our region.
"Get involved and consider applying to give them the resources to continue working on amazing projects that help our regional towns stories continue for generations to come.
“I encourage all local historical societies, schools, sporting clubs and specialist interest groups to apply for this grant to help share their stories.”
Applications close at midnight on January 24 and are open to most not-for-profit groups.
