From 15 January there will be increased construction activity near the eastern end of Warren St to build the two new flood relief bridges as part of the street’s upgrade.
The first week won’t affect detours but the current detours in place along Campaspe Esplanade will change from the 23rd.
A project spokesman said access to Echuca town centre, the local denture clinic, hairdresser, cemetery and friends or family in the area will use a new detour route via Homan St, Campaspe Esplanade and Ogilvie Ave.
He said that local access along these streets will still be maintained, however Campaspe Esplanade, once closed where it joins Warren St, will remain shut until late 2019.
“Motorists are encouraged to factor in an additional 5-10 minutes extra travel time once the changes take effect,” the spokesman said.
“Please slow down and observe the changed traffic conditions including work zone speed limits, for your own safety, the safety of residents and other road users,” he said.
“Major Road Projects Victoria thanks the local community for their patience while these vital works are carried out.”
