Flood damage has meant the course has been off limits for three and a half months.
Visitors will finally be permitted on the greens from Thursday, January 26.
Echuca Neighbourhood House manager Sarah Peake said all of the buildings on the site were ravaged by “chest-high water” in mid-October.
It took more than three weeks for volunteers to even be able to access the course, as floodwaters had not subsided.
“It went through our sheds and club house. We literally lost everything, from maintenance gear to golfing and mowing equipment,” Ms Peake said.
“We really had to start from scratch.”
Ms Peake sought grants to replace everything that had been lost.
Her team of dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to pump the water out from the grounds, strip the clubhouse and sheds and arrange for the replacement of items.
In a stroke of further misfortune, a massive gum tree collapsed during the clean-up stage, damaging the mains power supply.
Ms Peake said it had been “all hands on deck”, with volunteers trying to restore the course to its once-pristine condition.
“It’s been three and a half months and we honestly didn’t think we would get to see people back here so quickly,” she said.
“We thought it might be Easter before we would get guests and members visiting again, so I think we’ve done really well with all that we’ve been dealt over the past few months.”
The golf course is a multi-purpose area that welcomes dog walkers and school groups or organisations looking to utilise the space for events, meetings and activities.
Ms Peake said it was not just a golf course but a community space.
She urged people to visit, explaining the course had experienced a tough few years with COVID-19 restrictions and then the October floods.
“We really need the support of the community, our members and tourists because if we did not have that, we would not have the Back Nine,” she said.
The Back 9 Golf Course will resume operating on Thursday, January 26 but the clubhouse will not be able to be accessed as it is yet to be fitted out.
Visitors can pay on arrival with the no-contact pay system set up at the entrance.
