The Blues carried on their winning form by extending their dominant recent run over Cobram at the weekend, coming away with a 62-27 victory over the Tigers at Scott Oval.
Corey Drennan and Chelsey Wright’s contribution to the Blues’ season has been pivotal, and the clash against Cobram was no different with the duo propelling Tongala to its 12th win of the season, equalling its 2022 season record with five games to play.
The Blues’ fourth consecutive victory has also seen them move three games clear in second spot as Tongala and Deniliquin continue to set the pace in A-grade.
With the run home to finals on in earnest, Tongala still shapes as one of the challengers to the Rams throne.
The Blues will begin its run in round 13 this weekend against one of the clubs in pursuit of the top two — Moama.
The fifth-placed Pies share a nine-win record with Rumbalara and Mulwala but lost to Tongala earlier this season, an 11-goal defeat in round three.
After that, Tongala will have a bye before facing Echuca United (sixth) and Mulwala (fourth).
