Only category 1 and 2A surgeries will be permitted at the hospital for the remainder of the lockdown.
But patients who have visited a listed exposure site must quarantine for 14 days and avoid surgery where safe to do so.
GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said individual risk assessments would be undertaken to determine whether a patient should undergo surgery.
“GV Health staff are currently contacting patients that are scheduled for elective surgery,” he said.
“I am sorry that any patients who have been waiting for elective surgery are going to have their procedure delayed.”
Face-to-face consultations or Telehealth will continue in "priority circumstances" for specialist outpatient consulting, ambulatory clinics, community health, allied health and dental services.
However, for in-person appointments, risk assessments will be completed, with additional safety measures implemented to ensure the safety of staff and patients.
Existing entry requirements for GV Health such as temperature checking, screening and registration as well as wearing of face masks will remain.
Visitors will only be permitted at GV Health in end-of-life settings or where visits are essential for the health and wellbeing of the resident.
Visiting hours are from noon to 8 pm, noting there are exceptions in the child and adolescent ward, maternity ward, special care nursery and birth suite.
