In 2021, Mitchell Shire Council joined forces with the community and crafted a vision for Mitchell in 2050 that reflected collective hopes and aspirations for the future.
The Mitchell Community Vision is that by 2050, the resident are a healthy, vibrant and connected community that prioritises nature, diversity, and innovation.
The wish for the future is that Mitchell will become a place that people of all ages love to call home.
The community identified six key themes, vibrant communities; working, learning, tourism; travelling and getting around; shaping neighbourhoods; nature and parks and climate action.
The shire seeks community feedback again via the Mitchell 2050: Refreshing the Vision consultation.
