The event unites the school community, from kinder to Year 12 students, families, friends, special guests and religious leaders, to remember the school’s journey and rapid evolution since it opened in May 2004.
The event featured addresses from the school principal Scott Downward, the Bishop of Riverina Right Reverend Donald Kirk and school chaplain Reverend Timothy Bowles.
It also featured speeches from the school leadership team, music and the Foundation Cup, a school-wide sporting event.
Moama Anglican Grammar deputy principal David Frazer was thrilled with how the event went and reflected on what the celebrations meant to the students who carry the legacy of the school into the future.
“Foundation day is a great time to pause, reflect and notice what has happened before us and the contributions made by those who brought us here today,” he said.
“We are a young school of only 19 years, and so much has happened in that time, so it’s exciting to be a part of the present, and our future looks really bright.
“I think it’s really important for students to understand who has contributed to building the school they are currently at and all the excellent facilities, programs and teachers here started somewhere.
“Less than 20 years ago, there were just a few portables at the front of the school, and since then, looking around, it’s amazing to see how the school has developed and become a significant service to our community.”
Mr Frazer also highlighted the joy the Foundation Cup brings to the students and the wider school community.
“The Foundation Cup is a terrific sporting day with plenty of activities occurring in the afternoon; it is a favourite for the school community,” he said.
“It brings together all age groups at the same time, so it’s a wonderful celebration of the reality that our school is K-12, and all of their families are in attendance to enjoy it.”
