Greater Shepparton City Council is trialling the new machines that are being installed from Friday, July 18, aiming to simplify parking with a convenient and smartphone-friendly touch-and-go system.
To use the virtual meters, tap your smartphone to pay for parking and follow the prompts, or scan the QR code and follow prompts on your mobile phone.
When you do one of these, PayStay will automatically open, and if you are a registered user, the app will open.
If you do not have the app, the PayStay guest website will open where you can follow prompts to activate a one-off session.
Where the Touch N Go machines will be installed
Fryers St, between Wyndham and Corio Sts — three machines
Corio St, between Edward and High Sts — three machines
Maude St, between Nixon and Vaughan Sts, including the new Maude St Precinct — six machines
High St, between Wyndham and Corio Sts — three machines
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the trial was part of council’s ongoing efforts to improve the way residents and visitors interacted with the city centre.
“We’re excited to be trialling the new Touch N Go parking system to make it easier for people to get in, park and enjoy all that our CBD has to offer,” he said.
“This trial is completely free for council and comes at no cost to the community.
“It is about testing a new approach to deliver a more modern, convenient and user-friendly experience.”
Council will monitor the trial period to assess usability, reliability and community uptake, and is encouraging residents, businesses and visitors to give the new system a try and share their experiences.
