Carol-Anne Lever has been appointed to the role, announced by the board on Friday, August 8.
Ms Lever is originally from Mildura, and has 30 years of experience in rural, regional and metropolitan healthcare services, after originally training as a nurse.
Her most recent position was as Bendigo Health chief nursing and midwifery officer, leading portfolios in public health, infection control, and community, aged care and Aboriginal services.
Ms Lever has also served on the Kyabram District Health Service board since August 2022.
ERH board chair Stacey Williams said she was looking forward to seeing Ms Lever step into the role when she begins on Monday, September 1.

“Being raised in Mildura, she brings with her a deep passion for improving regional health outcomes and ensuring equitable access to care.
