Winners from this round head straight into the preliminary finals, while the losers get another chance in the semi-finals against winners of last week’s elimination rounds.
With Blighty and Mathoura each only having one netball side progress to semis after last week, only the Deniliquin Rovers will be represented at qualifying finals tomorrow and Sunday.
The sides that finished first and fourth place on the ladder in their respective competitions play each other tomorrow at Katandra, while the second and third placed sides play each other at Katunga on Sunday.
The Rovers’ undefeated under-15s and under-17s netballers are the first two teams from the club playing tomorrow at Katandra.
The under-15s face Jerilderie at 9.20am, while the under-17s will play Waaia at 10.25am.
The top-of-the ladder A-grade and C-reserve sides then round out the Rovers’ sides playing tomorrow.
The undefeated C-reserve side play Picola United at 11.50am.
A-grade, who finished on top after a close season, will play Tocumwal from 1.30pm.
The last contest between the two sides was a close match at Tocumwal, with the Rovers ultimately getting the win by nine goals.
On Sunday, in Katunga, the Rovers’ under-13s netballers start things off.
After finishing second, they play Tungamah in the youngest netball finals age group from 10.25am.
Also taking to the court for the Rovers in qualifying finals are the B-grade and C-grade sides, who both finished third on the ladder at the end of the home and away season.
The B-grade side play Katunga from 11.50am, while the C-grade team’s final against Waaia gets started at 1.30pm.
The club is also represented on the footy field this weekend also by the reserves side, who play Katandra from 12.15pm.
After a tremendous start to the year, the reserves will be looking for redemption against Katandra who provided them with their second and most recent loss of the home and away season by eight points, 3.10 (28) to 5.6 (36).
