Her friendly chats, product knowledge and helpfulness have recently led to her being named a winner of Coles’ Christmas Recognition campaign.
She placed 11th in the Australia-wide competition, which ranked Coles team members who received a high proportion of the 80,000 customer compliments submitted in 2025.
Heather said that with more than 130,000 team members across the nation, it was a real honour to receive the award.
“I was absolutely elated. I couldn’t believe it,” she said.
“I love the customers in our store. They're just amazing.”
As part of the award, Heather received a trophy, a signed certificate and a personalised book of compliments.

Heather said that while some customers had told her they had mentioned her through the ‘Tell Coles’ and ‘Customer Care’ feedback forms, she never expected to get as many customer compliments as she did.
“I just enjoy the customer contact and talking to people every day,” she said.
“I enjoy coming to work and doing my job, and talking with customers is a big part of that.”
Heather has worked at the store, and it’s predecessor SSW, for nearly three decades.
“It will be 30 years in February,” she said.
“It’s been a pleasure to serve so many people, and I want to thank everyone who nominated me for this award.”
