Thursday’s last week Moama BC sponsored jackpot pairs saw 24 teams compete, with six teams winning both games commencing with Trevor Rickard/Max Clifford (+10), Kevin Bursill/Dennis Ricketts (+13),Steve Morgan/Daniel Vella (+19), runners-up George Thornley/Jerome Shaw (+24), and the winners Stan Barker/Ashley French (32).

Morgan and Vella had the best one-game with +14. The jackpot did not go off.
Friday Scroungers, sponsored by Intersport, went to Sue Edwards from Alan Hopson.
Visitors Ross and Barbara Bulley from Robina, QLD enjoyed the Echuca BC hospitality.
Weekend Pennant was entirely different to the previous week, with four of the seven teams suffering losses.
The biggest upset was the defeat of Division one to Deniliquin away by twenty shots (2/14), with only one winning rink: Philip Thorn, Matt Brighton, Trevor Nagorcka and Ivan Hicks (18/15).
They retained top spot, but there are only 10 points between top and fourth.
Division two travelled to Stanhope and lost by four shots despite winning two of the three rinks (54/58), with the best being Lee Beattie (s), Rhonda Gallagher, Ashley French and Trevor Liddell (19/15).
They currently sit in fifth position.
Division three made the long trip to Deniliquin and managed to scramble home by two shots (62/60) to retain third behind Kyabram and Moama.
Greg Clymo (s), Tony Deenen, Eddie Blampied and Mac Campbell won 20/16 with a draw and a narrow two-point loss in the other rinks.
Division four defeated Ky Valley View by 55 shots (95/40) despite losing one rink.
Mal Thorn (s), Joan Dovaston, Lisa Humphrys and Bill Cook (43/11)had a huge win, and the team consolidated third position.
In Division five, White lost to Deniliquin White up there (32/45), sharing the two rinks.
Kevin Bursill (s), Linda Ormando, Bob Hentschell and Noel McMaster won 20/18.
Blue lost to Rochester at home by two shots 36/38, with Dennis Smith (s), Daniel Vella, Jill Young and Bluey Charman winning 21/18.
Blue holds on to 4th position while White is 8th.
On Sunday, several Echuca teams travelled to Tongala to compete in their classic fours event, which was played in extremely windy conditions.
After four games of ten ends the composite team of Maurie Hateley and John Brown (both Kyabram) combined with Lal Whyte and John Blair, were declared runaway winners on the day.
Well done to all.
The Pastoral Hotel sponsored Monday night social bowls was well attended with Barry Milne and Des Mangan successful from Lorelle Opthoog, Ricky Phyland and Jenny Green.
In Midweek Pennant, there was a win, a draw and two losses across the day.
Division one took on Rochester at home and had a runaway win (87/40) with rinks winning by 13,16, and 18 shots respectively, with the best Kerryn Evans,(s), Philip Thorn, Michelle Cunnington and Di Payne winning 30/12.
Division two ventured over the river to take on Moama and, despite winning two rinks, went down 60/67.
Belinda Chong(s), Ivan Hicks, Mike Hare and Lorelle Opthoog were the best, winning 27/22.
Division three retained 4th position despite playing a draw against Moama at home (39 each).
Trevor Rickard (s), Bernie Johns, Heather Trotter and Linda Ormando (24/15) won, but the other rink amazingly went down with the same score only in reverse (15/24).
The team retains 4th position.
Division four travelled over to Tongala and lost by nine shots (34/43).
Steve Morgan (s), Daniel Vella, Dennis Ricketts and Sue Edwards won 21/20 and the team is 6th.
The next tournaments are the Men’s Christmas Bonanza, sponsored by Echuca Mitsubishi on Thursday, December 11 at 9.30 am with Hams and Turkeys the prizes.
The next day, Friday, December 12 at 9.30am is the Ladies Christmas Fours sponsored by Moama Bowling Club.

Mini Bingo, standing at $4000, finally went off with Lucky Lal being the stunned recipient last Friday evening at drinks and nibbles between 4 and 6pm.
Tonight, the new round commences with a prize pool of $2883.
The members’ draw went to Andy Humphrys, who was not present, so the jackpot is $60 tonight.
Members who have entered club events, especially the Club Singles and B-grade singles, are asked to check the draws and ensure the games keep rolling as the finals are scheduled for mid-December.

It is important that planned games are written in the office diary – this is to assist the greenskeeper in his work schedule and having greens ready for play.
Marg Knight has offered to do a brief session on the do’s and don’ts of marking for those that are interested – Monday 24th at 2pm.

Lockington Bowls Club
An exciting week of bowls at Lockington, with the club enjoying some success in all forms of competition.
In the latest round of Campaspe Area Pennant, the odds finished in our favour.
The weekend competition saw Division Three tackling Rochester at home and playing well to record a solid 10-shot victory 67-57 and all rinks up (John Fisher d. J McCallum 21-17; Kim Ray d. K Hall 25-21; Steve Pavone d. A Gusak 21-19).
Division Four lost a close game against Rochester in a dramatic final end and lost 56-57 (Cindy Felmingham d. M McArdle 23-16; Shane Felmingham l.t. D Gillies 13-20; Denise Gilmore l.t. W Bertuch 20-21).
Division Five posted another win against Rich River after sharing the rinks and claiming a close four shot victory 41-37 (Rod Fiedler l.t. C Simson 19-21; Kalvin Stout d. B Kelly 22-16).
Notice to all members - there is no weekend pennant next Saturday due to the Victorian State Open championships.
The midweek pennant series provided some excitement when Division Three defeated Rochester and Division Four fought out a thrilling 41 - all tie against Moama Black.
Division Three won both rinks in the 41-29 victory (Denise Gilmore d. J Murray 22-15; Phylis MacFarlane d. H Wilson 19-14).
Division Four challenged Moama Black and tied the match (Russell Shawcross lost to G Reed 18-19; Kim Ray d. J Sullivan 23-22).
Division Three is in fifth position and Division Four are third on their respective premiership ladders.
The Sixty and Over competition was held at Tongala during the week, but unfortunately, there were no chooks returning to Lockington.
On the local tournament circuit, our members have performed well to collect the odd trophies.
Mel Freeman and Cindy Felmingham (s) challenged all-comers in the recent Regional State Pairs championship.
They fully appreciated the experience and collected one win against some more experienced bowlers.
Two teams travelled to Serpentine for their annual twilight mixed fours tournament last Thursday evening.
The rink comprising Shane Felmingham, Jeff Carnie, Cindy Felmingham, and Leanne McInnes (s) combined brilliantly to take home the runners-up trophies.
The Ray Hanson rink played without much luck but enjoyed the greens and the excellent hospitality.
The Tuesday evening barefoot bowls was another successful night of bowls with plenty of fun and laughter.
There were two two-game winners with the honours going to Milli DiAngri and Ashley Dobell on 2 wins plus 12 shots ahead of Rod Fiedler - JD Wright 2 wins + 6 shots.
Bowlers and non-bowlers are welcome to attend and enjoy the experience.
Tuesday evening - 6.30pm roll up and 7pm start of play.
Bowls are available and flat sole shoes or barefeet are essential.
Good to see Pos Andrea close to recovery and trying to regain the bowling finesse.
Club championships are in progress and the early round winners include Denise Gilmore scoring a hard earned win against a persistent Pauline Humbert 25-17.
Six time club Champion Leanne McInnes had the reputation on the line to survive a massive display of bowling from her opponent, up and coming bowler Mel Freeman in a high standard game of bowls where the scores were locked together at 21 - all before McInnes was able to wrap up the win 25-21and progress to the next round.
The men’s section championship draws are on display and games should be played as soon as possible.
The women are holding the annual invitation fours on Thursday, commencing at 9.30am.

The Campaspe Valley 60 and Over Bowls Group held their Wednesday weekly bowls at Rochester on a warm Spring day.
24 teams consisting of 96 bowlers, all competing for a chook and the Bill Jackson shield.
There were three three-game winners.
They were Bill Brander from Mathoura, Brian Kirk’s team from Moama and Neil Dovaston’s team from Echuca.
Bill Brander’s team with three players missed out with two bowls in the head.
Brian Kirk’s team from Moama were the runners-up with three shots near the jack.
Brian Kirk’s team were John Kiely, lead, Danny Matthews, second, Brian Kirk, third and the skipper was Max Bennett.
Neil Dovaston’s team, with six bowls near the jack, were the winners.
The winning team of Neil Dovaston,s consisted of Robert Taylor lead, Peter Cecil second, Paul Leach third, Neil Dovaston was their Skipper.
They were also presented with the Bill Jackson Shield.
Members of both winning teams received a chook each.
The next 60 and over Bowls is at Echuca, the “Kia Day shield”, on Wednesday, November 26 at an 11am start.

Weekly Highlights
On Saturday, John Finn edged out Dean Noelker for the November Monthly Medal, and Jodi Spence won the Star Award.
Steve Morgan had the best scratch score on the East with a two-over-par 74. The Family Fourball proved very popular with Jodie Armstrong and James Dargan winning a countback over Karen and Brendan Clymo.
Both had great scores of 51 points in the best ball.
Eileen Brettig won the 9-hole Ladies event for the second week in a row to win the Stellar Award, and it was a three-way countback in the 18-hole medley with Trish Williams coming out on top.
Nick Ferrari won the yearly President’s trophy on Tuesday, with Brendan Clymo edging out Dieter Zeissner for the monthly award.
Kobe Atkinson shot under par to win A-grade from visitor Lachie Schultz.
It was a close ladies monthly medal on Wednesday, with Georgie Azzopardi winning a countback over Mary Hawker, with Marg Morgan and Di Atkins only one shot behind.

Rochester Golf Club
Friday evening, organisers were delighted with the number of new and part-time golfers joining regular members in the 2-person Ambrose event.
Another good field enjoyed the composite course.
Chris Trewin and Peter Palmer combined well to win with 34 net 28.88 on a countback from the unlucky team of young Will Coghill and single-figure golfer Lachie Wilson.
Our main drivers for Friday evening golf, Shane Connelly and Troy McInnes, were next best (30.5), closely followed by Shane Bywaters and Greg Watkins (30.84).
Closest to the pin were on the 7th, Greg Watkins, 8th , Murray Schier and Wilson won the money for his nice shot to the 15th and 16th.
Zac McInnes was closest to the 16th, and Helen Ingram was delighted to win the closest to the line down the 10th fairway.
On Wednesday morning, 20 played over the front nine holes.
Wayne Williams easily won with 25 Stableford points.
After a 3-way countback Paul Pappin was runner-up from Allan Campbell and Chris Eeles, all on 22 points, with an unlucky four players all on 21 points.
Kevin McCormick finally had something to smile about, winning a ball for his first and only good shot to the 6th hole.
Our new course director Troy McInness has been working hard over the last month, supervising spraying, knocking out lots of broad leaf and other random weeds, while also spreading fertiliser over all fairways and tees and watering with the help of our dedicated "sprinkler team".
McInness and president Leigh Hicks have asked members to be patient until all these important upgrade works have time to settle, with mowing again to start over the next fortnight.
