Rosin eventually went for 39 and, although Ben Walker made an important cameo of 25 from 19 late, South was bowled out for 140.
Thompson’s explosion with the ball continued in the back half of the innings and, after claiming the last five wickets, he finished with eye-watering figures of 7-11 from 8.1 overs.

However, South couldn’t capitalise on the two new batters, `Thompson and Joel Felmingham completing the chase without further loss.
AK Gunathilaka logged best figures for the Swans, taking 2-27.
With two rounds to go theses two sides are a near certainty to face off in the second versus third semi-final and the Lions will go into that game on a high after this performance.
Before then BLU will visit another potential top four contender, Kyabram Fire Brigade, this weekend, while South is set to host Tongala.
