The station will be located on Wild Ave, Moama and will house three NSW ambulances.
Paramedics are also due to start working at the station in the first half of this year.
NSW Ambulance identified Moama as a high-priority location for a new ambulance station following a comprehensive service planning process to enhance cross-border resilience with Victoria.
Roving Gastropodia
From a wondrous realm far, far beyond comes a curious mythical creature, the kind never before glimpsed in this world.
A gigantic hairy snail, with its rider perched atop, like a mischievous Wonderland sprite, slides its way along a trail.
Having tumbled through a mysterious void — perhaps an ill-advised shortcut worthy of the Cheshire Cat’s grin — they’ve arrived here at the Port of Echuca.
Endowed with the ability to play music, chatter wildly and leave a glistening watery snail trail behind them, Gastropodia the snail will lumber past onlookers.
Gastropodia will be roaming through the Port of Echuca on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, from 11am to 1.30pm each day.
