Schultz has been a key contributor since joining the club from Fremantle in 2023.
Having been drafted by the Dockers with pick 57 in the 2018 national draft from Williamstown VFL, Schultz went on to play 90 games for the Western Australian outfit, kicking 101 goals.
On the first day of the 2023 trade period, the small forward requested a move closer to home with Collingwood, where he has since notched 36 games across the past two seasons.
He has now become one of seven members forming Collingwood’s extensive leadership group.
“Congratulations to Lachie on his elevation into the group,” Collingwood executive general manager of football Charlie Gardiner said.
“Since arriving at Collingwood, he has quickly established himself as a leader and key contributor to our team with his passion and dedication to the Club and his teammates.”
Schultz’s appointment to a leadership role follows a solid 2025 season, with the 28-year-old ranking second in the AFL for tackles inside 50 a game and increasing his averages in disposals, tackles, inside 50s, marks and clearances from 2024.
He is currently continuing preparations for the upcoming season with his black and white teammates, as Collingwood begins its campaign against St Kilda on March 8.
