On Saturday, March 14, Campaspe Libraries will host the annual event, allowing sports clubs, service clubs, volunteer and not-for-profit groups to flaunt their work.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the event was an important exhibition for the many community groups that enriched life across the region.
“Our Discovery Day brings so many local groups together in one place, giving them the chance to connect with people who may be looking for a new hobby, support network or social outlet,” he said.
“If you’re part of a club or organisation that wants to share what you do, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved.”
Cr Mackrell said the event was a welcoming space for long-time locals and new residents, and put an incredible range of active groups on display.
The day was also recognised as being crucial in fostering community spirit and encouraging volunteering.
“Volunteers play a critical role in keeping our towns vibrant and resilient. Their contributions are invaluable, and there are so many rewarding ways to get involved,” Cr Mackrell said.
“This event is a great chance for people to explore how they can lend a hand, meet others and strengthen the connections that make our community such a special place.”
The event will take place from 10am to 1pm outside the Echuca library, located at 310 Hare St, Echuca.
Community groups interested in participating can register online, collect application forms from any library branch, or request one by emailing libraries@campaspe.vic.gov.au
The deadline for applications is Sunday, March 1.
