The Gannawarra Reflect and Connect ― A Celebration of Community exhibition commemorates the mammoth effort to rebuild townships following the 2022 floods.
It comes as the Emergency Recovery Victoria supported Gannawarra Flood Recovery Program officially ceased at the end of January.
The photographic exhibition highlights some of the more than 330 events, programs and activities held over the past three years to support recovery.
Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said the floods impacted around 44 per cent of the shire, affecting every township.
“These events, programs and activities have enabled residents to remain socially active and have supported individual and community wellbeing throughout the recovery process,” he said.
“The display celebrates the volunteers involved in the recovery effort and provides the opportunity for residents to reflect and celebrate what the Gannawarra is renowned for ― a strong sense of community, connection and resilience.”
Fifty frame collages highlight various events held over the past three years, ranging from major community celebrations to one-off workshops.
All recovery initiatives featured in the exhibition were funded by the Victorian and federal governments.
Mr Rollinson encouraged any residents still feeling the impacts of the floods to contact the council for support.
