Echuca has begun its Goulburn Valley League netball season on the right note by holding off a fourth-quarter surge to defeat Tatura.

The second quarter was much more even, Tatura edging the period 10-8 and trimming the margin to 28-17 at half-time.

Tatura scored 13 goals in the fourth, with Echuca only providing five in response, as the Murray Bombers’ strong start to the match eventually paid dividends in a thrilling 40-37 victory.

Echuca faces Benalla on Saturday, April 11 from 2.15pm, which will be looking to avenge an opening defeat to Seymour, with the action set to take place at Tongala Recreation Reserve.
