Headlining the action will be Echuca’s meetings with Benalla in the Goulburn Valley League, set to take place at Tongala Recreation Reserve.
The football will begin at 2pm, the Murray Bombers looking to build on a resounding win over Tatura last time out, while Benalla enters the clash off the back of a heavy round one home defeat to Seymour.
Simon Maddox’s Echuca side is looking to continue to put early runs on the board by making it two wins from two, as is the case for Bronwyn Slater’s Murray Bombers in the netball.
Following a narrow victory last week, Slater’s side takes on a Benalla netball outfit that like its football counterparts suffered a heavy home defeat in round one.
After an impressive round one, Echuca will be looking to start a winning streak against Benalla this weekend.
The A-grade action will begin shortly after the football from 2.15pm.
Tongala’s ground is available for Echuca to use as the Blues will be away this weekend in Murray league, travelling to take on Numurkah at Numurkah Showgrounds.
The senior football clash begins at 2pm, as Jordan Souter’s team looks to start the new season with consecutive wins, a feat that could be important for a side looking to return to finals action.
In A-grade netball, Tongala suffered a one-sided defeat to Nathalia in round one and the Blues could have their work cut out against a Numurkah team fresh off a comfortable win against Cobram.
The clash begins before the football from 1.30pm.
Moama is also in Murray league action, its sides taking on Congupna at Moama Recreation Reserve.
The football clash is highly-anticipated, as the Magpies look to test themselves against The Road, the undefeated premiers from 2025 who started with an impressive win over Mulwala in round one.
Moama is also hot off a first up victory and, although its primary focus this year is making finals, a win over a premiership contender could do wonders for the team’s confidence.
The footy begins at 2pm, with the netball preceding it at 1.30pm.
Carri Carter’s A-grade outfit also won on Good Friday and another winnable home fixture presents itself this weekend.
Congupna suffered a lop-sided 56-goal loss in round one and Magpies goalers Holly Swatton and Indiana Phillips may be set for big performances again after impressing against Echuca United.
A win for Moama would also give it a positive start to sit on heading into a round three bye.
The round two Murray league bye will be served by Echuca United, which won’t be in action this weekend.
