Every local football-netball side will play this weekend as some clubs seek to prolong winning streaks, others look to bounce back from defeats and a couple are still searching for their first victory in 2026.

Starting with Echuca in Goulburn Valley League, which faces Seymour at Kings Park on Saturday, with the senior footballers looking for a seventh straight win to open their season at 2pm, while the Murray Bombers’ A-grade netballers seek consecutive wins at 2.15pm.
In the Murray league, Moama is on the road against Deniliquin at Hardinge Street Oval on Saturday, the football side looking to snap a four-game losing streak at 2pm, with the Magpies’ netball outfit set for a tight clash from 1.30pm.
Echuca United will also be in action on Saturday, taking on Mulwala at Echuca South Recreation Reserve, with the Eagles looking to return to the winners’ list in senior football at 2pm, while the netball side is still searching for its first win this year, playing at 1.30pm.
The other Murray league action to keep an eye on is Tongala’s clashes with Cobram on Saturday, with the Blues’ footballers looking for a third straight win at 2pm on Scott Oval, the netball side aiming to bounce back after a defeat last time out, starting at 1pm at Scott Reserve.
To Heathcote District Football Netball League, where Lockington Bamawm United is facing Huntly at Strauch Reserve on Saturday, with the Cats’ senior football side eyeing three wins in a row at 2.20pm, while Stacy Bacon’s A-grade netball outfit looks to build on a first win last time out at 1.30pm.
Lockington’s netball side is on the hunt for a second straight win this Saturday against Huntly.
Leitchville-Gunbower is also in action at Gunbower Recreation Reserve on Saturday, taking on Colbinabbin in two tricky fixtures, with the Bombers’ senior football and A-grade netball sides looking to bounce back from defeats last weekend, the clashes beginning at 2.20pm and 1.30pm, respectively.
Finally, Picola United and Mathoura will feature in the Picola District Football Netball League slate of fixtures on Saturday, with both clubs’ football and netball sides aiming for better displays after none tasted victory last weekend.
Picola United faces Deniliquin Rovers at Memorial Park, with senior football beginning at 2.05pm and A-grade netball from 1.30pm, while Mathoura’s two matches will start at the same times as the Timbercutters travel to Tungamah Recreation Reserve to take on Tungamah.
Soccer
The Echuca-Moama Border Raiders men will aim for consecutive wins in the Football Victoria Bendigo League 2 for the first time this season on Sunday when they face undefeated Colts United, with kick-off from 3pm at Strathfieldsaye Soccer Complex.
Meanwhile, the women are also away this weekend, taking on Golden City at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve on Saturday at 1pm, with the side looking to rectify a first loss of the season last time out.
Women’s football
Only the Moama women’s side will feature in the Goulburn Murray League on Sunday, the Mowers hunting a fourth win from five matches against Mansfield at Moama Recreation Reserve from 2pm, with the Moama youth girls serving a bye this weekend.
