Swimmers from the Echuca Swimming Club took to the water at the 2022 Swimming Victoria Country All Juniors Event last weekend, with each participant hitting new highs.
Seven swimmers from ESC took part in the event, with each competitor recording personal bests (PB) in all of their events at the championships.
Kayla O’Grady finished first in the 10-year-old girls 50m breaststroke, swimming a personal best in the prelims before setting another PB of 47.28 in the final.
Kayla came second in the final of the 50m backstroke — again recording back-to-back PBs in the prelim and the final.
She also qualified for the final of the 50m freestyle, finishing seventh and recording yet another PB of 36.60.
Emily McMillan finished third in the 11-year-old girls 50m backstroke final, recording a PB in the prelims.
She also reached the finals of the 50m freestyle, finishing seventh with a PB of 34.48. She also recorded a PB in the prelim of the 50m breaststroke.
Anja Taylor reached the finals of the 12-year-old girls 50m breaststroke after swimming a PB of 42.21 in the prelims before finishing sixth in the final.
Oscar Coombs qualified for the final of the 12-year-old boys 50m breaststroke after a PB swim of 42.53 in the prelims and also swam a PB in the 50m freestyle prelim.
Hanna Taylor had two PB swims at the country championships, recording times of 39.03 in the 14-year-old girls 50m butterfly and 66.23 in the 50m backstroke, also finishing ninth in the backstroke final.
Charlotte Wilson reached the finals of the 11-year-old girls 50m breaststroke, finishing fifth with a PB time of 46.22. She also swam a personal best in the 50m backstroke.
Amelia O’Grady swam a PB of 32.84 in the 13-year-old girls 50m freestyle.
