This “Guy” Galvin is in top form after a runner-up and win in the past week. The two Dave’s - Edwards and Collins - fought out B grade and Leigh Robins had the score of the day to take C grade honours, while plenty of practise on the super-pin hole paid off for Craig Opie.

Saturday, July 3
It is rare that an A grader wins the Privilege Cup so hats off to Wade Jeffery. Many were relieved that Potsie Webber won C grade and just missed out on the cup.
Steve McCoomb showed he was the in-form member of the family winning B grade. Steve Edwards took out the super-pin.

The two Vicki’s - Shipp and Kulbars - were in form on Saturday with board member Marion Whatley separating the pair. Doss Dinsdale hit one close to win the super-pin.

Sunday, July 4
On a extremely cold Sunday morning, 72 players turned out for the medley stableford round with Steve Crawford top scoring on 39 points to take the B grade win.
A grade: 1st Andrew Tewhata (38 points); 2nd Douglas Adams (36); 3rd Peter McKechnie (34).
B grade: 1st Steve Crawford (39); 2nd Errol Burns (38) on c/b to 3rd Ken Wildes (38).
Monday, July 5
Nine holes: The cold, windy conditions kept the field down for Monday's nine-hole competition with only 28 women contesting the par round on the East front nine.
The winner with +2 was Deborah Egan-Magnay from Patricia Sanders (square) on a countback to Jan Annakis (square).
Nearest the pin on the third was Megan Murdoch and closest with her second shot on the eighth was June Mills.
18-Hole medley: Xavier Clark finished on 3 to take the overall win from Georgiana Azzopardi in second place with 1 on a countback to Kristian McNicol in third.
Tuesday, July 6
There were 170 in the field for the stableford round on the West on Tuesday, with the top scorer for the day Warwick Stiles in B grade with 38 points.
A grade: 1st David Morgan (37 points) c/b; 2nd Gerry Allen (37); 3rd Michael Lizza (36).
B grade: 1st Peter Williams (37); 2nd Errol Burns (35) c/b; 3rd Kevin Murphy (35).
C grade: 1st Warwick Stiles (38); 2nd Frank Crawley (37) c/b; 3rd Barry Gallagher (37).
Alan Kennett finished the round with an eagle on the 12th on his scorecard and Troy Kenny took out the super-pin.
Nearest the pins went to Tyson McCoomb (A grade), Trevor Withall (B) and Bruce Fleming (C) on the fourth and Trevor Hay (A), David Borthwick (B) and Stuie Sinclair (C) on the eighth.
Wednesday, July 7
The women played a stroke round on the East course on Wednesday with Maureen Berg winning B grade and the July Monthly Medal with a handicap-breaking 66 nett.
A grade: 1st Lorraine De Ravin (70 nett); 2nd Nacole Horneman (72) c/b; 3rd Susan Hull (72).
B grade: 1st Chris Kelly (70); 2nd Marg O'Brien (71) c/b; 3rd Lucille George (71).
C grade: 1st Maureen Berg (66); 2nd Dianne McMinn (68); 3rd Jan Annakis (70).
Nearest the pins went to Josie Kirkman (A grade), Ellen Banko (B) and Debbie Gneil (C) with Marie Collins nearest with her second shot on the 13th.
Taking out the super-pin on the 16th was Chris Fleming.
Echuca Back Nine
Back Nine social club members played single stableford on Friday, July 2 with a shotgun start. An extraordinary general meeting was held after.
Men's A grade: 1st Danny Lavery (16 points).
Women's A grade: 1st Lorna Alchin (16 points, c/b).
Men's B grade: 1st Laurie Edwards (18); 2nd Graham Pawsley (17).
Men's nearest the pin: 6th Danny Lavery.

Lockington
On Wednesday, June 30 the women played the third and final round of the club championships.
Annette Brereton captured her 25th title thanks to three solid and consistent rounds, 91-91-91=273, with Sherryl Jones runner-up.
The A grade nett title was won by Sue Harris, two shots in front at the start of the day before finishing well, eight shots clear of Pauline Humbert and Sherryl Jones, joint runners-up.
Helen Hayes was the clear-cut winner of the B grade title, with Jan Clymo runner-up. Clymo's consolation prize was the B-grade nett title, which she won comfortably from Phyll Macfarlane.
The Annie Stewart Perpetual Putting Championship always proves a close contest, and this year was no different, with Annette Brereton (29-26-28=83) finishing best to win by two from Phyll Macfarlane (24-30-31=85), with Sherryl Jones (31-27-30=88) in third place.

Ian Maddison’s good form continued when golfers played Stableford on Saturday.
Maddison's score of 35 points was best on course and won the Locky Pub Player of the Day voucher, as well as the B grade honours. Jeff Carnie was runner-up with 32, with Ron Dixon next best on 31.
Grant Humbert won A grade with 33 points, narrowly ahead of Terry Thomas and Kevin Humbert, who both finished with 32. Meanwhile Mark Lyons romped to a clear-cut victory in C-grade with 33.
Nearest the pins went to Mark Lyons (7th), Kevin Humbert (A-grade, second shot 13th), Darren Carnie (B-grade, second shot 13th), JD Wright (C-grade, second shot 13th), and Mat Dennis (second shot 18th for the six-pack smack).
Spike’s longest drive on the 15th, sponsored by Hot ‘n’ Cold Plumbing, went to Mat Dennis (A-grade), Jeff Carnie (B-grade) and Don Muhleisen (C-grade).
Neither the Echuca CIH eagle's nest on the third, nor Captain Bricka’s yardstick on the 16th was won.
Handicap match-play results from the first round saw Kevin Humbert defeat Mat Dennis 6 and 5; Darren Carnie d Tom Scurrah 4 and 3; and Terry Thomas d JD Wright 5 and 4.
A number of Lockington golfers competed in Mitiamo’s annual tournament events played over the past week.
Terry Thomas was in the winner’s circle for the men’s four-ball event, teaming up with Rick Connors, while Jeff Carnie won the B grade 36-hole scratch event.

Bamawm
There was a field of 15 competing in a stroke competition on Sunday.
Winner on a three-way countback with an amazing score of 81-17-64 was Leon Laffy, with runner-up Russell Tatt 88-24-64 and Shane Broucek in third with 84-20-64.
Nearest the pins went to Shane Broucek (4/13 second shot) and David Winchcomb (7/16). The Meter Beater did not go off once again and is now up to $276.
The longest drive came from Adam Shawcross.
A reminder that today, Tuesday, July 6 is the final day of Bamawm's tournament with the ladies’ 4BBB. Hit-off is 9.30am-10 am. Next week will be a par round.
