In his second game for GWS at the championships, Hogan was again named among the best on ground for the Giants in their one-point loss to the Gold Coast Suns.
Trailing by two points, the Giants had a chance to win the game with a shot after the siren from a tight angle, but a behind saw them fall to the Suns 5.13 (43) to 5.12 (42).
Hogan shone bright on the Gold Coast — he was the Giants’ leading possession getter with 26 disposals and at one point he had four consecutive centre clearances.
It was the second time in as many games that Hogan was among the best, after he kicked three goals in the Giants’ 67-point win over Sydney in round one.
Hogan said he has loved being part of the GWS academy, adding that he felt less pressure playing for the Giants compared to the Vic Country system.
“Going from the Vic Country system to NSW, I don’t have any pressure on me,” Hogan said.
“I can come in and play my own sort of footy and I think that’s really benefiting me. I think that’s helped me a lot.”
GWS will now take on the Brisbane Lions at 1.30pm on Friday, July 8 in Canberra in their third and final game of the under-16 championships.
