The fallen trees at Moama beach will be moved before summer, according to Murray Shire Council.
Environmental services director Simon Arkinstall said council had applied to the NSW Government for emergency relief funds to clean up after damage from floods earlier this year.
If the application is successful, the money will be used to clean up both the Moama beach and Horseshoe Lagoon areas.
Mr Arkinstall said council had applied for $120,000 to fix tracks, remove fallen trees and fix the boardwalk.
Of this money, $38,000 would be used to clean up Moama beach and restore it to its former glory.
The removal of fallen trees in the area would cost an estimated $24,900, while the remainder of the money would be used to remove the mud that had been deposited where the beach was and to fix the road leading to the beach, Mr Arkinstall said.
He said the funding application was put in ‘‘quite a few months ago’’ and council was following it up.
‘‘We have to wait to get the nod before we proceed,’’ Mr Arkinstall said.
However, if the application was not successful, he said council would look at other means to do the work.

Two drivers were suspended for two weeks each by stewards at the Echuca Trotting Club’s meeting on Tuesday night.
They are J. Hunter, who drove Polish Maid in the Advanced Handicap, and W. Sweet, driver of Midlogan in the second division of the Beginner’s Handicap.
Hunter was suspended following an inquiry by the stewards into the cause of All Star and Miss Meka being checked and falling in the Advanced Handicap.
Sweet was suspended for forcing a passage from inside Future Design during the running of the second division of the Beginners’ Handicap.
The stewards also issued a warning to W. Blake, driver of Alvance in the third division of the Beginner’s Handicap, for taking a position where there was insufficient room.
He was warned that sterner action would be taken if he did not exercise more care in future races.
