Tuesday Junction Art Group’s exhibit Painted On Smiles opened at the Foundry Arts Space on Friday night.
Group members Robyn Berry, Anne Churches, Jill Kenley, Anne Mawson, Jan Molluso, Bronwyn Morton, Penny Silver, Rebecca Wells and Kerry Williams are showcasing their talents in the exhibit, which include ceramics, oil-on-canvas and mixed media artworks.
Tuesday Junction Art Group has been actively creating for over 17 years, and over that time the members have been getting together weekly for art and conversation while supporting each other in individual and collaborative creative projects.
A spokesperson for the group said the Painted On Smiles exhibit celebrated the joy of making art, and the group liked to include a collaborative piece in each exhibition to explore the process of sharing creative ideas.
“This year, three totems were constructed out of separate pieces contributed by each artist,” the spokesperson said.
“The segments were all threaded on to a free-standing pole that only came together the week before the exhibition.
“The result is a playful juxtaposition of random styles and materials that stands as the centrepiece of the exhibition.”
Painted On Smiles is open daily (except Tuesdays) at the Foundry Arts Space in Murray Esplanade, from 11am to 3pm, until Sunday, September 11.
