To celebrate, the church will be holding a morning tea after mass on Sunday, April 28 and a dinner on Tuesday, April 30.
But despite turning 20, the church’s history dates back much further.
The land on which the church stands was donated by the NSW Government in 1880, but this land was not occupied by an actual building until August 1892.
The wooden church saw a lot of changes in the Echuca-Moama area including both World Wars, two growing communities and a crippling drought.
A decision was made to advertise for a Parish Co-ordinator in July of 1996.
Sister Veronica was appointed and took over the position in January 1997 and she began to push for a new church.
Plans for the new church were drawn up and prepared with a contract signed in December 1998. The last mass was held in the old wooden church on Holy Thursday night in 1999.
On Good Friday, the community gathered for scripture and prayer before the cross was carried by the community to the new church.
Bishop Barry Collins officially blessed and opened the new Church Community Centre on April 30, 1999.
The rich history of this church is really something to celebrate.
The morning tea will be held from around 9am on Sunday at the church and the dinner will start at 6.30pm at the Rich River Golf Club.
