The $500,000 renovation is the cherry on top for Echuca Workers, which recently wrapped up a massive revamp of its facilities, including adding a new sports bar, cafe and an updated gaming room.
‘‘We didn’t plan this as part of the initial renovation, but we just couldn’t leave it untouched,’’ general manager Erin Langman said.
‘‘It used to just be a big, cold room with four walls. Throughout the years it’s been used as a function room for bingo and meetings and it was a temporary bistro and gaming room while we were doing the renovations.’’
That ‘‘big, cold’’ room has now been transformed into a versatile space that can fit 150-160 seated for a meal and 200 for theatre-style seating.
It also boasts an operable wall that can divide the room into two.
Plus an updated bar, state-of-the-art AV equipment and even a spacious green room with attached facilities.
‘‘We’re trying to get into the wedding and corporate markets,’’ Ms Langman said.
‘‘We haven’t been able to tap into these markets before because the space wasn’t conducive to those types of functions.
‘‘Echuca Workers is centrally located and has plenty of parking. Since opening, we’ve already had first birthdays, 30ths and a range of corporate meetings held here.
‘‘I just encourage locals to come down and see it for themselves.’’
