And many are finding out how deep Echuca-Moama’s pockets go for Community Living and Respite Services’ Opening Doors Project.
This is Rochester’s Jay West’s first year as a part of Johnno’s Run and she has found just how generous the district can be.
‘‘I had a few people donate to my fundraising but I was wondering what else there was that I could do,’’ she said.
‘‘I asked a few businesses if they could help out and they were really keen to support it.’’
As one thing led to another, Jay now has a full-blown raffle on her hands — and an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of it all.
‘‘The community has just been so supportive,’’ she said.
With donations still coming the big-ticket items are a Milwaukee M18 drill set donated by Absolute Builders, a $120 banquet for two at Sunago, $100 vouchers for Splash ‘n’ Learn to Swim in Rochester, $100 worth of vouchers for Jen’s Personal Training and a horseriding lesson at Blossom Grove Equestrian.
Tickets are available from Naughton’s Pools and Spas, Absolute Contractors, Jen’s Personal Training for Women, Splash ‘n’ Learn to Swim, Em’s Hairdressing, Nathan West Plumbing, Rochester Sportspower and St Joseph’s Primary School Rochester.
■Or ‘fore’ some great fun this weekend Rich River Golf Club is having a mini-golf fundraiser. This Saturday and Sunday $5 from every player will support Johnno’s Run. The new mini-golf course is open from 8am-10pm everyday.
