Senior Constable James Scambler of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said the burglary occurred in Dobinson St on December 18.
Two days later, a car was found in Boothman St containing a large amount of stolen property, estimated to be worth $20,000.
Property included two registered rifles, an unregistered firearm, jewellery, tools, records and alcohol.
Detectives arrested two men soon after and charged them with burglary and theft before releasing them on bail.
Matthew Jeffrey, 32, appeared in Echuca Magistrates Court for a filing hearing on December 31.
The Echuca man’s matter was adjourned for a committal mention at Bendigo Magistrates Court on March 20.
Ricky McLeod, 25, of Moama, appeared in Echuca Magistrates Court for a filing hearing on January 15, with his committal mention date set down for April 3 in Bendigo.
