It has been a month since Mrs Dalton won Murray, ending the conservative stranglehold on the seat, including the past 12 years by the National Party.
Since winning the seat she has been busy setting up her offices in Griffith and Deniliquin, while also attending training and induction days in Sydney.
Mrs Dalton has also attended two Anzac Day services — in Griffith and Deniliquin — and has also met with representatives and councillors at Deniliquin and Hay.
“I believe I made certain that in giving my maiden speech the Coalition Government very clearly understands the needs of the people of Murray.
‘‘Health, education and water are also going to become top priorities,’’ she said.
‘‘I am also inviting the Premier, Deputy Premier and the Water Minister to Murray.
‘‘A quick stop over is not what the people of Murray need — or deserve — from this government.
‘‘They are people who deserve to be listened to and have their needs met like any other resident in NSW.
‘‘Murray no longer has a partner who smooths over the issues concerning residents,’’ Mrs Dalton added.
‘‘Murray now has a fighter, someone who is going to stand up to the government and let them know their failings.
‘‘There are many failings which need to be rectified with sensible solutions.”
Mrs Dalton said she was looking forward to visiting all corners of the electorate.
‘‘It doesn’t matter where you are, you have a voice,’’ she said.
‘‘My job is to listen and act on your behalf. That started day one.’’
