Apprenticeship advice was presented by Lynda Magill from Sarina Russo Job Access and Mahir Ozdilek from MEGT, who helped clarify the rules and regulations around school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
Kate Pearson, a year 12 allied health student from St Joseph’s College, shared her experiences of work placement, with some tips for employers from a student’s view point. The event also featured a panel of local business people including David Stephens from Riverport Engineering and Hydraulics, Geoff Slattery from O’Brien’s Plumbing and Sean Garth from Moama Bowling Club.
All three businesses are active in hosting students and offered firsthand experience and tips.
