Spectators were treated to a round-robin style competition at Victory Park, which featured teams comprised of members from the indigenous, and multicultural communities and members from Victoria Police.
The latter side ended up claiming bragging rights on a day that was aimed at raising proceeds and awareness for the Greater Shepparton Blue Ribbon Foundation.
The day involved many attractions, including an inflatable dunking machine, a Milo cricket clinic, a jumping castle and a gold coin barbecue.
There was also a match involving an all-abilities side facing off against a mixed-community team at the beginning of the day.
Ethnic Council and Sport For All representative Sam Atukorala said the day was a great way to raise money and awareness for the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
‘‘All players had some fun out on the ground and off the ground the inflatable dunk tank was a great attraction for the kids,’’ Atukorala said.
‘‘We had a crowd of just under 100 people attend the day and we also had Cricket Australia donate a signed cricket bat from the Australian side that toured England in 2013.
‘‘The cricket bat will be put up for auction and the proceeds will go towards the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
‘‘Many thanks to all volunteers who helped on the day, the players on the field and the spectators who came and attended.’’
