Football
Echuca United
Nic Denahy: Playing a half-forward role for most of the day, Denahy presented well and contested well in the air. His skills were at a high level, which saw him named among the best.
Ben Fulford: Provided plenty of pace around the ground, but his opportunities forward of centre were limited as Wimmera defended extremely well.
Bailey Sawyer: As one of the team’s youngest players, he did his reputation no harm with a strong performance down back. Showed why the Eagles have so much trust in him, playing against small and tall opponents.
Moama
Luke Dunham: Faced a tough challenge with the visitors sending plenty of balls inside 50 but held his own. His leadership was terrific in guiding the team’s younger players.
Jordan Ives: Showed why he can hurt teams when given plenty of time and space with some nice skills out on the wing. Ives spread hard from the contest in a game which was won on the outside.
Tongala
Cameron Ilett: Led the way as one of the team’s most experienced players, as he refused to stop running all day. Won plenty of the ball on both the inside and outside.
Coby McCarthy: Looked likely to have a huge day in the early stages, when he kicked his side’s first goal. Moved further up the ground throughout the day, as he provided some pace around stoppages.
Jack Hammond: Shifted between midfield and the forward line throughout the day and did some nice things in patches. Took a big grab in the last which got the crowd up and about.
Netball
Amelia Brock: Showed why she is a force at club level under the ring and she converted numerous chances. Made the most of her match-up against smaller defenders.
Lisa Drysdale: Brought plenty of experience to the court and it was on display at critical times. Played in different positions throughout which was a pleasure to watch.
Tanner Edwards: Named best on court and rightfully so in a strong performance. Moved well around the court and continued to find the ball in dangerous positions.
