WHAT started as a light bulb moment has come to fruition after Rich River officially opened the club’s mini-golf course on Friday night.

After chief executive Shane Gloury raised the prospect at the beginning of the year, the club knew it was a missing element from their entertainment offering.
And following one night of the new course being open, the light bulb is now shining brighter than ever — with the club expecting it to guide them to future success.
“We moved fairly quickly and it’s come up a real treat,’’ Rich River president Peter Boek said.
“It’s a significant step up from the old putt-putt where you were hitting it off planks and bricks.
“We’re pleased to offer a true mini-golf course. For someone who wants to try and read a green it’s quite challenging.’’
And with the new facilities, Rich River are hopeful of attracting potential new players to the club in coming months.
“We’re hoping people who wouldn’t usually come to Rich River visit and utilise the course along with our other facilities,’’ Boek said.
“Some of these people might get an actual taste for the game of golf itself which would be terrific.’’
The course is open 7 days a week between 8am and 10pm, with prices starting at $10 for adults, $8 for children between five and 17 and $5 for kids under five for nine holes.
A family pass of two adults and three children is available for $30.
Following the initial round, patrons can play for half the cost for each round there after.
Rich River would like to thank Richard Chamberlain and the Mini Golf Creations team for their hard work in developing the course.
