Between Monday and Tuesday alone, Deniliquin Police allege the woman made 17 ‘‘vexatious, threatening and abusive phone calls’’ to Triple Zero, police radio and local mental health services in the Deniliquin area.
They said some calls were terminated, while on others the phone operator was verbally abused.
Police said a number of threatening messages were also left on answering services.
They said when they did respond to calls for assistance, officers were verbally abused by the woman.
The woman was arrested at her Deniliquin home on Tuesday, and charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend. She was also charged with make vexatious call to emergency service number and false representation resulting in police investigation.
The woman was granted strict conditional bail and is due to face Deniliquin Local Court on April 7.
On Wednesday, the same woman was charged with assault and breaching the bail conditions handed down a day earlier.
She allegedly struck her grandmother twice, once in the arm while she was driving her granddaughter to her Deniliquin home.
Once they reached the home, the woman again allegedly punched her grandmother in the arm, and then threw her walking stick on the road.
