Although Rich River secured a win over Rochester they have lost top spot on percentage to Echuca South 1.
Section 1
Elmore (8-86) def. LBU 1 (5-64)
Elmore have celebrated their first win of the season against LBU 1 by 22 games climbing the ladder to fifth.
The Elmore men, Ryan Byrne, Mitchell Byrne, Jordan Tobin, Bryce Niven and Craig Skeers, were able secure an eight-game advantage ahead of LBU’s Mitchell Collins, Coby Cox, Ian Haines and Bowden Stone.
In the number one men's singles, R. Byrne was out done by the classy shots of Collins.
M. Byrne retaliated in the second singles winning 6-0 against Cox.
LBU’s Mitch Collins stood up to the challenge, winning all his three sets 2-6, 7-8 7-8 in the mixed alongside Monica Brereton.
Elmore’s ladies, Taylah Pratt, Jessica DeMaria, Jane McAdam and Audree Kleehammer were able to wedge a 10-game advantage against LBU’s M. Brereton, Sarah Jones, Michelle Stone and Emily Mitchell.
Rochester 1 (4-69) lost to Rich River 1 (9-85)
Rochester was hoping to take full advantage of playing Rich River at home on the grass but unfortunately went down by 16 games.
Captain Jaycob Dingwall continued his explosive form winning his number one men's singles against Matt Rosendale 6-2.
Elliott Taylor missed a couple of crucial points at the end against Hudson Jasper 5-7.
In the men's doubles Dingwall and Will Leahy drove hard from the base line to win 8-6.
Taylor and Zac Holmberg were dynamic on the net winning 8-3.
Holmberg and Nash Hocking put on a great show but went down 6-8 to Steve Rawlings and Tim Harley.
With the exchange of a few worm burners and great rallies the Rich River ladies outplayed the Rochy ladies of Kate Lee, Rach Major, Trudee Leahy and Bridie Baker, 8-4, 8-3, 8-4, 8-2.
Rochy had a 12 game deficit going into the mixed.
Dingwall and Major were electrifying on show court winning 8-3 against the big hitting from A. Godfrey and Rosendale.
The ambidextrous Elliott "Tricky" Taylor had to use all his tricks to turn around a 0-5 start with partner Kate Lee before Rawlings and T. Godfrey won the tie-break in a nail biting finish.
Will Leahy and Bridie Baker battled hard losing 4-8.
Following suit Hocking and Leahy were pushed by their consistent opponents 4-8.
Section 2
Rich River 2 (3-42) lost to Colbinabbin (10-72)
Colbinabbin’s Sam Ryan, Ned Morgan, Chris Ryan, Jude Ryan, Ella Kerlin, Trish Wilkinson, Mardi Ryan and Paige Randall had a superb 31-game win against Rich River 2.
Rochester 2 (10-72) def. LBU 2 (3-52)
Rochester 2 celebrated their first win over LBU 2 by 20 games
Brody Fiedler worked the court to win 7-5 against Clancy Gardiner.
Rod Fiedler took charge at the net but conceded 3-6 to Rohan Chugg who kept plugging away.
B. Fiedler and Howard Armstrong won 7-5 against Gardiner and Blake Humbert.
R. Fiedler and Javier Hawkings collected the 7-5 win against Chugg and Cooper Mitchell.
Kyle Lawrie and Hawkings lost 4-6 to Humbert and Mitchell.
The Rochester ladies, Christine Hooppell, Jenny Crockett, Ellie Moroney and Carly Brownlow started strong winning the first three sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 against Jemma McNair, Milly Haines, Bec Eade, Ali Howlett & Chelsea Jones.
Rochester extended the lead winning three of the four mixed.
