Freya Josephine Hollick is cosmic country and melancholia. It’s a little like Bill Callahan meets Dolly Parton, but then again, it’s something else altogether.

Freya burst on to the scene in 2016 with her debut, The Unceremonious Junking of Me, immediately garnering praise for her unique and captivating voice as well as her sophisticated songwriting.
She followed it up with 2017’s Don’t Mess with the Doyenne EP and then the critically claimed Feral Fusion from 2018.
She has since toured with Justin Townes Earle, C.W. Stoneking, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and Tex Perkins among others, and played numerous festivals, including Out on the Weekend, St Kilda Festival, Boogie, Tamworth and The Festival of Voices.
After recording in 2019 at Rancho de la Luna, Joshua Tree, with Lucinda Williams’ band Buick 6, Freya has a new album in the pipeline and was recently labelled one of five artists leading the new country renaissance by Double J.
Freya will be performing both on the main stage of the festival and at the paddlesteamer side show aboard the Pride of the Murray this weekend.
