It may have been the most frustrating sale to put together due to COVID-19 restrictions, but it paid dividends according to Sammon Bros owner Bill Sammon, who has labelled his latest sale the "best ever".
It was a total clearance for the Bungeet-based Majella Poll Dorset stud, which sold 101 rams for an average of $1336 on September 18.
Wahring's Alistair Newton purchased the top-price ram of $2500.
Malcolm Ellis and Stan Wallis of Goorambat purchased 13 rams between them, while Goulburn Valley Water bought 10.
Mr Sammon said it was a successful sale, and he thanked everyone involved for helping to make the sale happen despite COVID-19 restrictions.
“There was great co-operation and I really can't thank them enough,” he said.
“We weren't expecting that result ... There was very strong demand.
“Coming off dry conditions maybe people found themselves needing more rams.
“We were really happy.”
