A former Echuca resident, John has built an impressive resume in health and aged care.
This includes stints as corporate manager at Ottrey Aged Care Homes in Cobram, chief executive of MHA Care in Yarrawonga and director of corporate services at Tallangatta Health Service.
John worked previously in the hospitality industry and has wide experience in finance, build projects and personal management.
In the wake of the Aged Care Royal Commission, John said he is highly aware of the challenges currently facing the industry.
He and his wife plan to relocate to Echuca-Moama in the near future and look forward to becoming a part of the local community.
Echuca Community for the Aged board chair Ian Maddison said the facility had received a swathe of high-quality applicants for the key local position.
“All knew of the excellent retail, eating out scene, schools, hospital and vibrant country lifestyle that Echuca-Moama offers,” he said.
“Applicants were very impressed with the Echuca Community for the Aged facilities, which include Wharparilla Lodge, independent living units and supported living units and Illoura Village.
“We look forward to an exciting future with John at the helm as we finalise plans for the extension of the enterprise wing of Wharparilla Lodge and develop 50 to 55 new independent living units to meet the demand.”
John will officially step into the new role on November 18.
