Northern Country, which includes Campaspe Shire, and the Mallee district, including Gannawarra Shire, are both labelled as Code Red, the highest warning level.
A Total Fire Fire Ban (TFB) has been declared for Victoria and NSW tomorrow.
Tomorrow's conditions in Echuca will be hot and windy with temperatures expected to reach 42 degrees and northerly winds between 30 to 55km/h.
Emergency Management Commissioner Andrew Crisp said if a fire started in the conditions expected, it would be uncontrollable.
District schools that will be closed tomorrow include Echuca Specialist School, Cohuna Secondary College; Colbinabbin and Girgarre, Goornong, Gunbower, Koondrook and Leitchville primary schools; Lockington Consolidated School and Pyramid Hill College.
Early learning centres that will be closed include Colbinabbin, Koondrook and Pyramid Hill preschools; Gannawarra Shire Children's Centre; Girgarre Community Kindergarten; Goodstart Early Learning Echuca; Shine Bright kindergartens in Echuca, Gunbower and Lockington; and Tongala Community Activities Centre.
Echuca's Bendigo TAFE will also be closed and there will be bus closures due to the Code Red warning.
CFA chief officer Steve Warrington warned people in the Code Red areas to prepare for the worst.
"If you live in those areas and a fire occurs, a fire will take your home. You need to make sure you are not there. Code Red says to us that we cannot control a fire if it starts. Move out tonight," he said today.
State Duty Officer Craig Brownlie said the declaration of a TFB should act as a timely reminder that the summer season is fast approaching.
“Tomorrow’s hot and windy conditions could make it difficult for firefighters to supress a fire should one start, therefore we are asking people to take heed of the Total Fire Ban conditions,” Mr Brownlie said.
“People need to be aware of the increased fire danger and ensure your fire plan covers all possible contingencies.”
TFBs mean no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban. For more information on what you can and can't do visit the Can I or Can't I page on the CFA website.
Victorians should also make sure they have access to more than one source of information.
They include: - ABC local radio, commercial and designated radio stations of Sky News - The VicEmergency App - The VicEmergency website www.emergency.vic.gov.au - The VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226 - CFA or VicEmergency Twitter or Facebook
Additionally, NSW Parks have advised that all Murray Valley National Parks and Regional Parks will be closed to visitors from midnight tonight (Wed 20th November) to midnight tomorrow (Thursday 21st November).
Because of the fire ban, buses for Kotta and Welton have been cancelled.
