Well, to put it in a brightly coloured nutshell, A Pandora’s box of creative, imaginative, enlightening exhibitions fill the 2020 calendar for The Foundry Arts Space this year.
The progressive and dedicated team of volunteers have worked hard behind the scenes to bring the Echuca-Moama community and surrounds some of the most outstanding opportunities to engage in.
Starting off the year is John Bradley’s thought-provoking exhibition Mandala Dancing in the Bardo, which will be held from February 15-23.
Take a step inside the tranquil world of Buddhism and this exceptional display.
From there, we take a different step into a tango, with Echuca-Moama Theatre Company's production of Last Tango in Little Grimley and Last Panto In Little Grimley.
The two one-act plays of 45-minutes tell the story of some colourful characters from the local amateur dramatic society in their attempt to prove the show must go on, even if there are only four left.
The light-hearted comedy will be staged at The Foundry from February 28 to March 2, and is a must-do for a good giggle.
Flowing into the next exhibition, one could think Dancing with the Stars has taken on its own meaning at The Foundry, with the exhibition High Kicks and Hard Shoes taking place from March 16-22.
It's an opportunity to take yet another step to the beat of a different drum, this time into the captivating world of Irish dancing.
It is also a chance to meet the remarkable Geraldine Ryan of O’Shea Ryan Academy of Irish Dancing.
Geraldine has been teaching Irish dancing for 78 years to students from the age of 12, proving that living your passion can indeed give you life.
Geraldine continues to teach in her 90th year, and to commemorate this, a special multimedia touring exhibition will be launched in Echuca-Moama with an opening event and exhibition.
Information on coming exhibitions will be available through emai.org.au, Facebook and Instagram and future Arty-Facts editions.
The Foundry Arts Space invites you to visit our many exhibitions for the year and keep up to date by becoming a member for $25, or $20 for concession-holders.
You will help to support the not-for-profit community group and may even be dancing your way to a new creative journey in 2020.
Arty-Fact: Dance is a performing art, it is visually creative and culturally significant.
Dance has many physical and mental health benefits so dance like nobody is watching. But if they are, ask them to join you.
Go creatively, Dee Makeham.
