The Forty Winks Shop Local and Win promotion is back for its eighth year, with another $5250 up for grabs.
All you have to do to be in the running is make a purchase at one of the 23 participating businesses, fill out a coupon and drop it in the box at the counter and you could win $250, $500 or $1000 in shop local gift cards which can be used at any of the participating stores.
Forty Winks owner-manager Scott Worsnop said the three-week campaign was designed to reward people for shopping locally and supporting local businesses.
“We continue to support this Shop Local campaign because we are strong believers in keeping as much money in the town as possible through local businesses, whether you buy a coffee, car or a new bed, every little bit helps a local family and in turn helps build a stronger community,” he said.
“We have found the Shop Local promotion over the past eight years to have grown substantially year on year, and we know that because our customers talk about it in-store and the local community support it more and more each year.”
Scott said businesses had been hit hard due to the COVID-19 crisis and he hoped customers would take that on board when buying goods.
“I’m hopeful it has a positive effect as there are so many businesses in Echuca-Moama that need the support of the local community now more than they ever have before,” he said.
“It’s been a very tough year for so many businesses, especially those forced to close their doors. Hopefully we can see everyone get back to work and resume a near normal life very soon.”
Scott thanked all his customers who had shopped at Forty Winks during this challenging period.
“We appreciate your support and we will continue to support our local community like we have done for the past 32 years,” he said.
Riverine Herald advertising manager Kristy Hayes said the promotion had been incredibly successful during the past eight years.
“We receive thousands of entries across all businesses and it’s such a good feeling to contact the winner to let them know they have won and hear their reaction,” she said.
“We encourage everyone to get involved and support local business, because who wouldn’t love a call to say they have won $1000 just for supporting a local business?”
